Deputies seek assistance in identifying suspect in attempted abduction

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying a man who tried to lure a teenage girl into his vehicle as she walked home from her bus stop. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an attempted abduction in the area of Montrose Drive and McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers Friday between 2:10 and 2:20 p.m. The suspect drove his vehicle beside the victim as she walked home and asked her to get into the car. The victim ran from the area and was not harmed during the incident. The subject is described as a tan white male, 30-35 years of age, medium build, short blonde hair, blue eyes. He had two-three days facial hair growth. The vehicle is described as a dark, possibly burgundy or black, four door, small sized sport utility vehicle or sport wagon. The vehicle had a loud engine.
