Chris Sabella, 74, of St. James City, passed away Dec. 28, 2009, at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Astoria, N.Y, a son of Christy and Margaret Dolan Sabella, now deceased. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Bokeelia. He was a patriotic person serving in the National Guard. He was a strong supporter of the Beacon of HOPE. His memberships included the VFW Post of Pine Island and the Pine Island Moose Lodge. He had resided here since 1995 coming from Port Jefferson, N.Y. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Sabella, of St. James City, and her children, Krista, Melanie, Kaylynn, Samantha and Lauren; and Shawn Navins, Mark Navins, Marina Navins and Noelle Navins, all of New York, N.Y., and 12 grandchildren, his brother Larry (Maureen) Sabella of Palm Coast, Fla. and a sister Lorraine Sabella and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial mass was celebrated by Father Michael Hughes on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Bokeelia. Burial will be in Coral Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Cape Coral. |
