There is a new face at Riverdale Dental at the island center. Dedicated to improving smiles, Riverdale Dental recently welcomed its newest dentist, Dr. Jared Ford.
"I am excited about being here on Pine Island. I really enjoy the small town atmosphere out here," said Dr. Ford. "I am looking forward to meeting more of the island people and look forward to the upcoming season."
Originally from Grand Rapids, Mich., Dr. Ford and his wife, Katie, relocated to Fort Myers after completing his education at Detroit Mercy. While he said he does not have a particular specialty, he gets the most satisfaction from cosmetic dentistry.
Joining the team of dentists at Riverdale Dental located at the island center is Dr. Jared Ford.
"I enjoy every aspect of cosmetic dentistry. I particularly like making people feel good about themselves and seeing them leave here with a big smile," Dr. Ford said. "The joy they show when leaving the office makes my job worth it."
When asked why he decided to pursue a career in dentistry, Dr. Ford said he had a lot of encouragement from his own dentist.
"I had several conversations with my dentist up north and he really encouraged me to pursue dentistry. Because of our conversations, I discovered it had a lot of the aspects I was looking for in a career," he said. "I enjoy helping people and I like working with my hands. I also enjoy learning and there is always something new to learn when you are a dentist."
Dr. Ford shares the office at 10484 Stringfellow Road with colleague, Dr. Nirav Patel.
"Dr. Patel is a pleasure to work with. He is very knowledgeable and I get nothing but positive feelings from him," he said.
Dr. Ford first learned about Riverdale Dental when he met with Dr. Markus Sherry, the owner and former operator of the Pine Island dental facility.
"I met Dr. Sherry last winter when my wife and I first came to the area. We were planning to move here to be closer to Katie's family and after speaking with Dr. Sherry, I knew that Riverdale would be a good fit," Dr. Ford said. "It was very hectic for the first few months with the wedding and the move, but now that things are beginning to settle down a bit. I am looking forward to a long future here."
Dr. Sherry opened the Pine Island dental office many years ago and has now retired but remains active recruiting and serving as a mentor for new dentists who come to work for Riverdale Dental Associates.
Dr. Ford splits his time between the Pine Island office and the Riverdale office in North Fort Myers. He is on the island all day on Monday and Wednesday and half days on Thursday and Friday.
Riverdale Dental Associates have offices on Pine Island as well as North Fort Myers, LaBelle, Fort Myers, Buckingham and Lehigh Acres. For more information, call the Pine Island office at 283-1041 or visit riverdaledental.com
