The Commissioners that are in power now, are elected by the old cronies that support their outdated policies. The current commission is full of bullies that ignore the comments and concerns of the residents of Cape Coral. It's a my way or the highway mentality. If we allow the large over 65 population to continue to elect these dictators, we will never have the opportunity to have our voices heard. The current situation with the UEP expansion is a prime example of what I am speaking of. There was never any concern for the citizens and what we wanted. It was all about how the city and the utility can make a buck off the back of the citizens. I have never lived in a community where the cost of the materials that belong to the utility company is passed on to the customer. It's not like we will own the infrastructure, or see any returns/dividends from the profit of said utility. It sickens me that we are being raked through the coals and are paying unjust amount for this expansion.
