2013 Kenwood Sauvignon Blanc
July 24, 2014 - Norman Bentley
The hot summer air begs for a cool, crisp glass of wine to soothe the senses, and the 2013 Kenwood Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc does just that. Bright and refreshing with a clean finish, it is the perfect summertime wine for almost any occasion.
We opened a bottle a few nights ago on one of those hot humid days so typical of Georgia in July. The aroma leapt out of the bottle with the promise of melon and tropical fruit in its forecast. The flavors were a mix of melon, pineapple, and lemon grassiness with a mild citrus flirtation. The wine was fermented in stainless steel to produce a very clean finish, which begs for another sip! The alcohol content is 13.5%.
This wine would be an excellent companion for any summer salad, or great for a picnic featuring cold fried chicken, Norm's score is 88.
Price: $10 - $14
